Week 1: Finding Significance

We're on the hunt. We're searching for what may be a hard thing to find the answer to - just how do we fit into this whole thing called life? What's our meaning? Our purpose?

Answering the following three questions can help us figure out just how significant we are.
Do I matter?
Am I loved?
Why am I here?

This week as you put some thought into these questions when you're checking in with yourself to see how you're REALLY doing, let's take a minute to be honest with ourselves, ok? By filling in the following you can see where you're at right now. Then, we can see where we need to go. (Don't worry, we're not sharing this part - unless you're Holly and filled in "I could marry Drake" for each one.) :)

If only ___ I would be happy.
If only ___ I would feel loved.
If only ___ people would respect me.

Let's get these "if onlys" cleaned out so we can focus on what's really going on with us, shall we?

It's time to start to tell YOUR story. Through the next several weeks of our Third Place study, we'll be working through a number of challenging and inspirational discussions together. But what it all boils down to is you. Are you ready? What's your story? What will your story be? Will it be a story of courage in how you dared to be the person God created you to be? Or will you play it safe?

Jot down a few notes about your story. You can share them here or bring them and we'll chat about them next week.

Ephesians 1:11
It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we're living for.

I love you girls! Drop me a line or text anytime.
Peace!

The challenge

Thanks to all of you girls who showed up for the Third Place kick off today! It was great to see you and get another session of Third Place off and running.

The challenge I place before you is to ask if you're ready to make a change. Are you ready to do something significant with your life that will change you AND make an impact on those around you?

Think on it. Pray about it. If you're ready, I'm ready. Let's do this together.

Third Place will meet during the 9:15a service each week (9:15-10:15a).

As always my phone is always on for texts or calls, let me know of any questions.

Looking forward to an exciting challenge!

Hello ladies! We will be kicking off our Fall session with a movie and pizza party on Sunday Sept. 19. Immediately following the 10:45 service we'll gather in the Theater room of the Crossing to watch "To Save a Life."

Invite your friends to join us! This is a great opp to bring a fresh face into our group. It's an incredible story which will launch us into a powerful mission in the coming weeks. I'm so excited for what we've got ahead!

Starting Sunday, Sept. 26 (that next weekend) we'll plan to meet in the Game room of the Crossing during the 9:15 a.m. service.

Week 5: Amor of God

What a day! You girls were full of stories today - loved it!

This week I hope you post your fully prepped paper doll in a good spot when you're getting dressed each morning to remind you to put on the full armor of God.  Our life begins in a relationship with Jesus and learning and trusting each part of the armor is what will equip us for our journey.

Scripture
Ephesians 6: 10 - 18

  • Belt of Truth - God, our one true Creator, Counselor, Savior, Friend and Father
  • Breastplate of Righteousness - Be mindful of the He is a forgiving God who provides you with a life free of sin through knowing Him, being honest with Him and accepting His awesome gift of forgiveness.
  • Sandals/Boots of Peace - Watch your feet as they walk through each day and see how they can be reminders of living out and bringing peace to those around you.
  • Shield of Faith - Having faith in the unseen is one of the most difficult to explain. Hold fast to your shield of faith knowing that you can count on God to fulfill every promise He's made to you and to all people.
  • Helmet of Salvation - You are saved by and through Jesus Christ. As you do your hair each morning visually put on your helmet of salvation (wouldn't want a real helmet to give you helmet-hair) as a reminder that He is watching over you from the very top of your being down to your toes. He has risked it all for you promises you strength for today's battle and for all eternity.
  • Sword of the Spirit, God's Word - The Bible is the most powerful book you could ever know. Keep His words close to you to calm your doubts/fears and strengthen you in every situation. His Word is true.

Blessings to each of you this week. I look forward to our last week next Sunday where we "serve others unexpectedly" during the 9:15 service time. Come a little early if you can as we'll jump right in and get started as soon as you arrive.

Are you ready for battle? Prepare!
